The Violette de Mazia Foundation, the La Salle University Art Museum, and La Salle University's College of Professional and Continuing Studies are pleased to once again offer "Informed Perception" to be held this summer in the galleries of the La Salle Art Museum this summer.

Inspired by the writings of Dr. Albert Barnes, Violette de Mazia, and John Dewey, this class will introduce students to an objective method for understanding the expressive and aesthetic content of art and to appreciate the inclusive relationship between art and everyday life. Classes will be held in the galleries of the La Salle University Art Museum - one of Philadelphia's hidden jewels - giving students the opportunity to interact directly with works of art.

Through the cooperation of the Philadelphia Arts in Education Partnership (PAEP), educators who successfully complete this class will be eligible for 35 Pennsylvania Act 48 Credits. Participating students will also receive three Continuing Education Units from La Salle University's College of Professional and Continuing Studies.

Classes will meet on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, July 1 to July 31, from 6:00 - 9:45 p.m. Free and secure on-campus parking will be provided. The La Salle University Art Museum is located on the University's main campus at 1900 West Olney Avenue in Philadelphia.

A maximum of 20 students will be selected to receive full scholarships to participate in this program. All scholarships are provided by the Violette de Mazia Foundation. For an application please click here. For eligibility requirements, or more information, please call Miranda Clark-Binder, Assistant Curator of Education, La Salle University Art Museum at 215.991.3680.
