New Informed Perception: An Objective Approach to Aesthetic Appreciation, Summer 2008 (La Salle University Art Museum)

The Violette de Mazia Foundation and the Main Line Art Center will offer “Informed Perception: An Objective Approach to Aesthetic Appreciation” Wednesday evenings, April - June 4, 2008, 6:30 - 9:30 p.m.

This course introduces participants to the objective method for the appreciation of the art in painting and in everyday experience. The objective method, developed at The Barnes Foundation by Dr. Albert Barnes and Violette de Mazia, enables students to experience works of art directly, make aesthetic discoveries, and undertake personal and independent analyses of works of art. Classes consist of lectures, readings, group discussion, individual projects, and lively activities.

For more information or to register, contact the Main Line Art Center, 610-525-0272 or visit the website www.mainlineart.org.
