Traditions in Art, Fall-Spring 2006-07 (Cab Calloway School for the Arts)

Cab Calloway School for the Arts and the Violette de Mazia Foundation is offering a course for 11th graders, “The Traditions of Art.” The course meets once a week on Tuesdays at 12:45 p.m., September 5, 2006 – May, 2007.

De Mazia Foundation instructor David Nolan uses projected images, museum trips, objects and demonstrations to introduce students to the traditions of art and basic concepts in aesthetics.

Richard Hanel, the participating teacher, works with David so he can master this objective approach to aesthetic education.
